What “Nabakothi” means:
Naba = nine, Kothi = houses/chambers. The body has 9 auspicious motifs set inside square grids. Each square represents a kothi and carries symbolic meaning from Odisha tradition.

Lotus, elephant, lion, peacock, kalasha, flower, pasapalli, conch shell, and one regional variant

Base: 100% Pure Handloom Silk Patta / Mulberry silk woven with Bandha Ikat technique
Design layout:
Body: Nabakothi squares with the 9 motifs all over the saree body.
Pallu: Tissue anchal with traditional Sambalpuri designs — peacocks, Konark Chakra, temple motifs, or elaborate ikat patterns
Border: Zari-tissue kumbha/temple border or rudraksha lines
Blouse: Matching blouse piece with tissue border
Weave technique: Sambalpuri Ikat/Bandha — yarns are tie-dyed before weaving. Creates the signature soft, blurred edges. Each motif is pre-planned on the yarn itself
