JACQUARD WEAVING mechanism is used in this tussar silk saree, involving the use of thousands of punch cards laced together. Each row of punched holes corresponded to a row of a textile pattern. The punching of the cards are automated by computers. Jacquard looms allows very complex patterns and motifs to be woven in any size, that could have not been possible in a manual loom.

Weavers input complex designs into the machine's computer system, which controls the warp threads accordingly. This automation significantly reduces the time and effort required for pattern creation.
