Dance is an ancient and cultural tradition in India. Bharatnatyam, Odissi, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Kathakali, Mohiniyattam , Sattriya and Manipuri are the most important classical dance forms of India. The Dancers act out stories most exclusively through their gestures and Mudras. Each form represents the culture and ethos of a particular region. All Classical dances of India have roots in Hindu arts and religious practices, such as Temple dancing, that is, in honour of the deity of the temple .
