The Bomkai doll design is an age old indigenous design in the Bomkai saree collection.This is an age-old traditional weave, where there is an extra weft weaving with Bomkai Doll motifs.This authentic handwoven Bomkai Silk is handcrafted by the weavers of Sonepur in Odisha.
Bomkai design was borrowed from village name “Bomkai” in Ganjam District of Odisha to Sonepur. The Bomkai Design was developed in the late 1980s and introduced in the Sonepur in the early 1990s.
